THE ORIGIN / A SMALL LEAP FOR MOONKIND
“Bro, what if we just put them together?”
AND THUS, THE PACK WAS BORN.The young crescent accompanies Eid al-Fitr. At Karva Chauth, many observers end their fast at moonrise. Different faiths, different meanings, the same celestial rock.
United Moon imagines Hindu and Muslim moon traditions meeting in one emblem. Neither needs completing. Both belong. So does anyone else who wants a place in the pack.
A shared Moon became a pack. A pack became a howl. Someone suggested capes. Someone else bought the domain. No gods were consulted.
Eid al-Fitr is associated with a young waxing crescent. Karva Chauth falls on the fourth lunar day of the waning fortnight, generally a waning gibbous Moon. These are not exact complementary pieces. Combining photographs does not reliably create a full moon. This interaction is a symbolic union.
